I grew up in a house that was divided mum and dad were constantly fighting disagreement I am 55 years old now with adult children who have families on their own I find children these days don't have contact with us older mom's now like back in the days of the Waltons or little house on the prairie
My Mama grew up during the depression and I remember her telling me that for many years all her & her sister got for Christmas was a pair of socks and some oranges.
Judy Norton has recent visit interviews with both Michael Learned & Richard Thomas & video of a reunion with the other family & fans on her channel. 🎄🏞🦌
This movie was a favorite of mine for many years. I grew up with The Waltons. My mother and sister loved it, too. Sure wish there was good programming like this again, instead of the trashy reality shows and dumb sitcoms. Patricia Neal (Mama Walton, in this movie) was just great in this role and Michael Learned was excellent in the series, too. Merry Christmas to all who read this, in 2023.
OMG! Such wonderful memories of watching The Waltons in early 70s when I was a small child. Such a wonderful story. I'd forgot all about it. Thank you for bringing such happy thoughts. I was also a fan of Little House on the Prairy. Love love love. ❤❤
I love this movie it reminded me of my uncle aunt's farm in Franklin Wisconsin we all had good time he he'd 10 kids all are still alive uncle, aunt done passed away 😢❤
I grew up watching the Waltons and little house on the prairie, Life seemed so much simpler then, but I imagine it was a lot harder than it looked. I’m 62 now and find myself looking back rather than looking forward. Oh to be sat in my childhood home watching this with my parents , special times
I watched this growing up. I remember looking for it as I got a little older for the nostalgia of it all. Such simpler times – not only for the Waltons but also for those times growing up compared to life now in 2023. I miss those times. The older you get, the quicker time flies. I remember writing in those same Indian Chief red tablets that John Boy used to write his stories. You can still get them today! My, how such simplicity can have such great value. I hope I will always remember this as I get older. The beauty of a family who truly loved and stay together during such difficult times. My parents grew up during the Depression. My grandparents would tell me stories about it as a little girl. My Grandma still even had some wooden ration nickles she kept just in case another Depression came to buy bread for the family and that one pair shoes that was passed down from child-to-child until they no longer held up. Loving memories. Even Dad has been gone for seven years now, but we still have Mom. Thank you, thank you, thank you. To the One who made it all, and to the Waltons for their ever-presence in our lives still. <3
Walton's has become our adult fairy tail. Reminds us of all we can do without and what are the most important things in Life. Wouldn't miss any episode. Walton's grow in your heart & mind & sometimes move into
I feel your pain…. God made having children way too easy! There are so many people that should never be parents. I was raised in the 60s where abusive fathers didn’t face any consequences. My brother and I were determined to not bring innocent children into this shit-hole world. At 63 I’ve never regretted that decision

I'm glad they changed the parents out in the series to Ralph Waite and Michael Learned.

I watch this every Christmas and it still gives me the same warm, nostalgic feeling every time.
My daughter just got me a beautiful new Christmas cactus. My old one finally died & I was so bummed out. 🍃🌺 I'm so glad to have a new one!🎄

She is a terrible Olivia.
Earl had a book, movie before this one.Called Spencer's mountain. Very similar and enjoyable. Henry Fonda stared in it?

What's wrong with people today. This should be the same today or close to it. Not full of nonsense you see today.
Can someone tell me if the person playing the sheriff is grandpa on later episodes?
Forgot about this gem 💎 and thanks for sharing
