Early church fathers understood celebrations which coincided with the Feast of the Nativity and then the Feast of St Nicholas to be completely distinct. They wrote about it. Saying that Yule or Saturnalia somehow caused Christmas is flawed post hoc reasoning.
Of all the dates they could have chosen for Jesus's birthday, they had to pick on the pagan calendar.
My family is from Great Britain, all 4 regions and I am fascinated by the mythology of the Gaelic and Welsh cultures, and what small amount of English I've found. My wife is from Russia, so I am pretty familiar with current stuff like Grandfather Frost. Most people in Russia celebrate Xmas with gift giving and going from house to house of friends to eat, drink and dance and socialize. This is done on News Years Eve, even though the government no longer outlaws most religious Orthodox celebrations, people began celebrating Xmas then after Stalin outlawed it. Xmas dinner is a family affair on Jan. 7th.
Great video!

I grew up orthodox, protestant and pagan, all at the same time. So I always enjoy videos like this where they explain how it all fused together.
Yes christmas was not christian but it was replaced by it because they believed in christ
I see why it's important to break off and renounce and denounce generational tendencies, sins and curses. You never know what your ancestors participated in.
This doc. is about the Northern part culture of Europe which is very interesting.⚔
but it's the birthday of Jesus , is the focal point if you call it Christmas 🎄
and Hanukah from where He is from is more related to the local facts🏺
Happy Yule 🎄2023
"Kravachin [sp] is THOUGHT to mean…"? "The PROBABLE meaning of this…"?🤨🤬
I was really looking forward to watching this and learning something new. I can guess just as well as you. Maybe for your next video you can check your facts first. I learned more from the comments than this video~👎
My father, German American, taught my sister and I about Krampus as kids. Our school friends always called us liars.
Here’s hoping Krampus visited their kids!
👍💕👍
In other words, Father Christmas is a demonic entity. The whole “holiday” and energy around it is evil. It puts ridiculous pressure and expectations on people to spend money they don’t have and forces them to appease people.

Covers things like thor in his tree and choping down the tree , to white horse to reindeer, etc. lots of holiday history from 100 AD to today. Showing the date based on bible.
I once heard that the druids forbid bloodshed under a tree that held mistletoe. If two opposing warriors met under such a tree they shook hands in friendship and parted ways in peace.
It is my opinion that there was no CHRISTmas before Christ. There were winter celebrations, some being pagan but those were not Christmas. Christmas by its very name is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus always existed but by being born through immaculate conception, he came to earth as a man to teach us how to live a Christ-like life and to fulfill the bible prophesy that he would die for all of us to take away our sins. Jesus is God and Christmas celebrates Him and only Him. All these other winter celebrations celebrate other things and by saying they are Christmas you are negating that and taking away the true meaning. I pray you all celebrate the birth of our Savior today and every day. Merry CHRISTmas.
Nobody has celebrated Yule for over a 1000 years. People didn't have Yule trees. Christmas is not Pagan, you wouldn't find any pagans celebrating Christmas. Nothing about modern Christmas is pagan, not Christmas trees, not lights, Santa and elves are later additions.
Hahahahaaaa moronic lies
However, one should have a better knowledge of Slavic languages and history in order to better perceive the Abrahamic pagans. I have nothing against Christmas, actually, but,
Christmas-April?
At the expense of what? Front door, town/village and customs? Winter is just the beginning, or a coin of the new Christian clergy with some symbolic meaning, which is more logical to me.
Oak, and biblical tree. My father told me that incense was introduced into Orthodoxy. Before it was an oak tree, i.e. burning twigs for Christmas, and here it says the typical thing for prosperity, to increase the crop… which can only be somewhat true but extremely incomplete.
Then Koročin (Kračun) is connected with the Kolijad (the Roman Saturnalia), and the Kolijad, as well as the Serbian kolodar, is also the calendar beginning of winter… (he interprets it with a step forward, which can also be symbolic, as mentioned above). Saturnalia and carnival, and according to some Russian traditions, are in memory of defeated evil creatures.
Firs in cemeteries are well placed in the later period, but only when burials in front of the doorstep were prohibited (for the poor. The richer people made "stećkas" like today).
I don't know from which Aryan literature he drew the one about just whipping while washing…
Not to mention the lyrical stories for children, and for him the Gallic queen Bera (also possible classic bora/north wind) who… (becomes "tame" in the spring)…
Hogmen (Hogmany) in the expression brđanin and in the so-called The fairy tale of the elves to banish the krolls (the creatures mentioned above)? Mountain people from mounds, i.e. giant cemeteries? I don't know where the trolls in the giant tombs came from, and there is archeological evidence that such creatures existed.
…, (He does not see in the later Odin a kind of Homeric point and thus a clear difference between Slavic and new Germanic customs)…
Be that as it may, even today in the Protestant church we have some allusions and fables, but no works "on the way to being perfect as"… (in righteousness, mercy and faithfulness as all the law and all the prophets)… And that's already it is also related to Krsnik and Kresnik, although not the same now, as well as to (A)pol-on ("half father half son)…
And the "regular" "sees the frog that the horse has raised its leg, so it also wants to be shod".
Well, Merry Christmas
Not even 40 seconds in and it's already so much misinformation.
Christmas Before Christ??? There was NO Christmas then. This is an oxymoron!
Saturn..
In the United States we call him Jesus Christ. That Coca Cola company bs was a good one since the 1940's. It's a Hallmark holiday. Gifts gifts gifts and gifts. Washed brains 🧠
ALL OF OUR HOLI-DAY: HINDU GODDESS IS PAGAN TO THE CORE, EXCEPT FOR 4TH OF JULY AND THANKSGIVING
In America we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on this day, anything else doesn't matter
Dreadful voice.
Amazing
