America needs to adopt the Catalonian Christmas traditions of El Caganer (The Pooper) and El Caga Tio (The Pooping Log)! Political correctness has been destroying Christmas in the U.S.A. for more than twenty years! You cannot SAY this. You cannot SING that. You cannot DISPLAY this. You cannot DECORATE that. ENOUGH!!! Bring on the Christmas fecal traditions and take a massive dump on political correctness during the coming Christmas season! "South Park" gave us Mr. Hankey, the Christmas Poo. So, we are off to a good start! Ho-ho-ho! 😂 Hee-hee-hee! 😂 Ha-ha-ha! 😂
Yep, in Europe kids get gifts on Saint Nicholaus and Christmas
Please, don't refer to Catalans as Spaniards. Catalans won a referendum of independence and hate Spain by the most in the world. Catalan is a nation with thousand years of history and Spain is only a recent invention. Thank you.
In Poland St. Nicholas gives presents in 6th of December but in 24th of December presents are given by: Gwiazdor(star-man), Dzieciątko(little baby Jesus), Gwiazdka(little star), Aniołek(little angel), Dziadek Mróz(grandfather frost) or most common Święty Mikołaj(Santa Claus) and when the first star shines kids can open their presents
In Germany, there are many traditions throughout the country at the holidays
Thank you for warning me to avoid Spain around Christmastime.

There is a German girl on YouTube who does a video about Christmas traditions in Germany and she says that pickle thing is not true….they do not do that.
That whole pickle in the tree thing is just a myth! And Germans unpack their presents on the 24th (even the British royal family unpacks theirs on the 24th, because of the german influence) not 25th so the whole "who finds the pickle in the morning" thing is just made-up, too?
greetings from germany
You are very enjoyable to listen to ( whoever you are) and to watch your videos-photography and all. Good talent.
Anybody ready to sing Oh Tannenbaum?
I'm from Slovakia, and never even heard about the pudding stuff.
I'm sure my mum or grandma would go frenzy and destroy the whole family if anything was thrown at the wall that stains 😀
You forgot the olentxero from Basque Country
In the south of Ireland young people do the 12 pubs of Christmas which is a massive session wearing Xmas jumpers. Often not allowed into nice bars it gets very rowdy but it's fun way to barhop in December to get into the festive spirit if you love drinking pints (rule is it's a pint per pub)
In Poland we also celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve “Wigilia”. Breaking “opłatki” on Christmas Eve before dinner and wishing everyone one individually good luck for the upcoming new year. No meat on Wigilia! only fish and non-meat entree.
Hi mark, love your travel blog. what is the best German christmas market to visit. Thanks.
3:50 it's a Germanic tradition, not a German one ;).
About three kings day: Here in the Netherlands we had it as well in the Catholic parts. Childeren went from door to door singing songs with a lantern. Sadly this tradition is dying out, because of secularism, forgetting that it's a thing and the rise of Halloween instead of it. The protestant part of NL has st Martin (11th of november) as a similar tradition, but with other songs. That one has the same problems now, but less problematic.
The pooping man and the pooping log traditions are catalan only, you won't find that in the rest of spain XD. We catalans are weird, but we're proud B-)
I have never heard of that Slovak tradition and I'm from Slovakia. 😀
The pickle in the chrismastree is a myth. I'be never heard a German person talking about it, only American when they talk about German traditions.
Come 2040, all open and mass Christmas celebrations will be held under police protection, by 2050 all open Christmas celebrations will be outlawed, only allowed, restricted to private home only. celebrations.
WHat an interesting video. I just found your channel but I instantly a fan. Well done!
There's a new tradition. Enrichment or diversity barriers. Since muslims are so peaceful, Europeans have to put diversity barriers to stop trucks of peace. Thanks to Merkele.
Compared with your early photos or videos I can't figure out why you had a very big personality recently
First christmas tree was light up in Tallina or Rīga, that is in Estonia or Latvia, NOT in germany!
