Man, I hate that I missed this live! My fav christmas movie is Home Alone. Great show guys!
I’m currently watching the Muppets Christmas Carol after watching this video. I never understood what Gonzo’s obsession with chickens was all about, still don’t, very dodgy character
Jingle All The Way is my go to.
Frank and Darren where can i find the watch along of Christmas evil with you guys and Dave?
Damnit! I missed this live. Just wanted to throw this out there and Darren prob isn’t gonna know what I’m talking about but when I was in 3rd grade I was the train with square wheels in a Christmas play. It was my first acting debut. lol
Glad to hear Dave giving Jaws the Revenge a mention, one of my Christmas favourites lol Got to keep in mind too that sequels wernt really in vogue in 1974…
Anton Furst wasn't production designer on Batman Returns, it was Both Welch. From what I'm led to believe Bill Murray was never seriously considered for Batman. Ivan Reitman was talked about maybe directing Batman and the rumor was Bill Murray as Batman and Eddie Murphy as Robin. It was being plugged as a comedy. But as I say I believe this was rumor and was never WB or Michael Uslans intention.
I think people are just changing the definition of what a 'Christmas movie' is just because they don't agree with it lol so how's Gremlins a Christmas movie and Die Hard isn't? Billy could have easily got Gizmo as a Birthday present.
Sorry I missed this as I was over in your neck of the woods Darren, but the stream will keep me entertained for the next few days as I catch up!
Yes! I love that Batman Returns was mentioned! I love this movie and love Batman, just so many memories from when this came out. Christmas of 92 I got a ton of the kenner toys that I still have to this day. And I'm planning on doing a Keaton cosplay in the future, but with a silicone cowl, if any people still make them. Back in the late 2000s, one of the cosplay forums I frequented had people making the Keaton cowls out of silicone so they could turn their head as the cowl and Cape are bolted down onto the suit. I'm about 6'1, 220 so I gotta get the specific measurements and make it good to go for our local comicon sometime. And Marlon still got paid residuals for this lol. Bill Murray was Jon Peters' main choice until telling Burton they cast Keaton due to the idea that the humor would translate good into an explosive, mentally deranged individual that they envisioned for a vigilante, but after seeing keaton they felt he looked psychotic but also someone that would need the edge from wearing a batsuit. There was also a deleted scene where the shop the strongman destroys actually sold Batman merch, as a critique of the commercialism of the character and the holiday itself.
This was sooooo much fun, I really enjoyed this one loved all the critique's and laughter etc. For me Die Hard was never a Christmas movie just a movie set around the holiday 😊 Hopefully we'll see you all soon but if not have a great week everyone. ♥
Great show guys, watched this on catch up, however frank you will be happy as per your Christmas carol movie as we had about 8 cm of snow here yesterday in the UK in the midlands! Oh and they sell chestnuts in our Christmas market ha ha
Hey Darren, have you seen 'a childs christmas in wales"? That has some good atmosphere in it.
Am I the only person who likes The Polar Express? I always see people crapping on it saying the animation is creepy or weird, but I've never quite understood the hate. I will say there is one moment in particular that is kind of creepy towards the beginning of the movie when the parents of the main kid come in his room. They're just in shadow and the way the mom in particular moves is kind of off putting lol. Other then that, though, I enjoy the movie and think it has some good Christmas spirit to it. My inner child loves the idea of a magic train coming along and taking me to the North Pole to see Santa.
One other honorable mention for me would be the short animated movie The Snowman. It's only about 25 minutes long, and doesn't even have any dialogue, but the animation is quite beautiful and unique.
What a great episode of TSL! Hats off to Darren, Frank, Dave and Chris for making it so entertaining! Happy to see some of my favourite Christmas movies and specials mentioned here like Black Christmas (classic slasher that is every bit as good as Halloween), Krampus, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Those last two that I just listed were childhood staples. Anyways gents, may you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Great video. A real treat seeing all you guys together. Dave mentioned watching Christmas Evil with you guys, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Was that on his channel or yours? Maybe I misheard.

Great episode guys.. christmas chronicles on netflix i think is my new fave of all time..
Another great show guys I love all the hard work you put into the show.I have a non Christmas related movie as my Christmas movie. It is Slumber Party Massacre 2. Short story picture it Christmas Day 1987 after opening up my x-mass gifts I go down to my friends house and his parents rented SPM2 from the local video store. So here we are Christmas Day afternoon watching this movie and from that day on whenever I think about slumber party massacre 2 I think of Christmas Day 1987. Ahhhh Happy times. Happy holidays guys to you and your family.
Ernest was ALL OVER the UK back in the day. What are you guys smoking??? lol
Ernest was the man. Scared stupid is my favorite. Goes to jail, saves Christmas, goes to camp are all great too.
I'm in the UK, Ernest saves Christmas was on at my local showcase cinema when released

I must have Dave’s back on this one… “Die Hard” isn’t a Christmas movie but it’s cool that you like it, Darren.
