Good morning, friends! Today, I’m sharing some of mine and my family’s favourite Christmas traditions. Traditions are what makes this holiday season so special for us. Share with me what your family traditions are in the comments!
Hi everyone! My name is Julie, and I’m a mama to FIVE! My kids are 11, 9, 8, 6, and 3. I post videos every Monday that are either mommy tips, favourites, homeschool curriculum reviews, birth/postpartum tips, hauls, or some other kind of ‘mommy’ video! Wednesdays are grocery hauls, full days of food, or what I eat in a day. I also post large family vlogs on Fridays. Thank you for checking out my channel, and I hope you subscribe so you can keep up on my videos! I love to keep in contact with those who watch my videos to find out what’s going on in your life, so please comment below. I always read your comments! 🙂

So I was wondering, I've heard you say you don't really do Christmas or Halloween.. are you guys Jehovah's witnesses? Just curious? Becasue my kids are
Our Christmas traditions include pajama boxes at the beginning of the season, elf on the shelf, so advent t calendars , advent devotional, studying one gospel in biblical order, Christmas Eve mass, Christmas Eve boxes, watching Christmas movies, baking, hot chocolate and Christmas giving. We don’t consider Christmas over on December 25 th. We celebrate till the epiphany on January 6. So we keep our tree up the whole time then quickly take it down because our daughter has a birthday January 7.
We put gifts from relatives under the tree but Santa presents come after the kids go to sleep on the 24 th.

We hand out homemade Christmas cards to strangers at the store while the kids gift shop each other. It’s so sweet to see the kids pick people to give things to. This year we did cards and ornaments they painted.
We open the gifts from the kids to each other Christmas Eve so they don’t get lost in the shuffle of Christmas.
All the movies 🙂
And we decorate sugar cookies for Santa
Love your advent calendar. Where did you get it? Thanks for sharing your traditions.
Some of our fave traditions-
Looking at lights
Secret sibling gift exchange
Baking
Random acts of kindness
Movies
My kids have little trees in their rooms and that's where their ornaments go and our main, big tree is the 'nicely' decorated one. And we put all the wrapped gifts under the tree, except the kids. Growing up I always loved being surprised seeing my gifts under the tree for the first time Christmas morning. Even though we don't do Santa either.
A tradition I did growing up and now love to do with my kids is have Christmas music blaring and drink hot chocolate as we decorate the tree. We also love to decorate sugar cookies. We aren't big into watching movies but do watch Charlie Brown Christmas every year.
Hi we live in the uk we get up have bacon sandwiches get ready to go to church when we get back we open our presents and then get dinner ready normally we eat about4 to 5 pm we have table presents normally after our main course this we all have something knitted I have made soft toys for each of us this year can’t wait to see there faces when they open them after the meal we will play games and then have a sing song of carols and other popular songs we love doing this each year so much fun happy Christmas to you all love prayers and blessings xx
Such fun traditions!!!! Growing up we would always go and cut ours down, string popcorn, and make ornaments. Our stocking was always filled with apple, oranges, and nuts lol
We have a fake tree lol our daughter is 27 and our son is 14 so our tree is pretty much all their ornaments they made growing up, we now buy an ornament that symbolizes something the kids like and put that on. We started a few years ago the pickle ornament and they loved that! Our daughter doesn’t live here but she always loves looking for the pickle 😂🤣
The Christmas pickle is a lesser-known Christmas tradition for some Americans. A Christmas tree decoration in the shape of a pickle is hidden on a Christmas tree, with the finder receiving either a reward or good fortune for the next year. The kids love looking for it!
We wrap gifts as soon as we get and put under the tree. I love hearing how everyone does their tradition. Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas Julie!
My kids always got jammies from their grandmother on Christmas. My kids are mid 20's and still ask for them. We also don't put our presents out until the 24th. Mostly because the animals try to walk , sleep or open them.
Im s gift bag person!!! My kids love the Christmas lunch on the beach the years we are in Sydney, we don’t do that in the U.K. tho as it wouldn’t be nice. My kids have their own advent calendar. I love putting stuff on my kids beds randomly. We do st nicks day. As a kid we had real trees and after Christmas my stepdad planted them. We’ve never done a real tree tho. We have small trees in bedrooms!!! We have a Disney princess tree. My daughter loves her tree even tho it’s filled with Disney princess!!! We have pancakes for Christmas breakfast but I’ve never done anything as fun as Santa pancakes!!! We gave presents then breakfast then the Christmas story!!! My biological mum started that one year as a young adult as they do that and I kept it as I feel it reminds us of the real meaning of Christmas!!!
We are trying to figure out traditions we can carry out beyond Christmas because we get the "blues" after Christmas 😂
Traditions are the best!! You have very good ones!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!
We do jammies, a book, and some chocolate on Christmas Eve. We've been doing that since my oldest son's first Christmas 27 (😳) years ago! When the boys were young I waited until Christmas morning to put presents under the tree because if I put them out earlier, I felt like they focused too much on the presents and not the reason for Christmas. But that was just us.
My husbands family always opens presents on Christmas Eve. They didn’t do Santa so there was no need to do presents in the morning. But I grew up my traditional and did believe in Santa so we did presents on Christmas morning. So we do both. We go to his parents and do Christmas Eve dinner over there and open their presents the kids are spoiled by them and other family members. And then we go home and open one present that has Pjs and a book. They can open the rest of the presents Christmas morning. We don’t do Santa but they get a gift from Jesus.
I always start wrapping gifts as soon as possible and put them under the tree. Santa’s gift comes Christmas Eve but the rest are there as soon as I get them done. Otherwise I feel like our tree would look kinda lonely 😂
These are wonderful!
If you havent read it, Memory Making Mom by Jessica Smartt is a wonderful book!! Its all about these types of things and how important they are from a Godly mama. Merry Christmas!
