I'm of the same school of thought with linseed for the handle.
One does well to look closely at the linseed oil. 99% of the brand you will find at a hardware store save money by putting drying agents into less refined oil.
The most common one, that used to be called "Japan dryer", has the heavy metal cobalt in it.
The youtube app isn't letting me paste the NIH link but google "cobalt toxicity." It's usually regarded as much worse for your health than lead.
Great work
So to prevent the axe from slipping, you removed the lacquer finish, then oiled up the handle?!
Noone uses an axe for a Xmas tree. Use a saw brah
