Hi and welcome to the first of 2 Strasbourg vlogs!
This is our first day in Strasbourg, France and we are so excited to be here during the Christmas season. We are staying at a lovely airbnb in the Grande Île region of Strasbourg which is a protected world heritage site. Our airbnb was so central to everything (though nothing is very far away, as Strasbourg is small and quaint). In this vlog we arrived a bit early so we stopped at a restaurant Le Meteor to have some classic dishes such as chicken Cordon Bleu with Spaezle and Tarte Flambee (a very delicious disk which reminds me of a flatbread pizza – this won’t be our only time eating this so stay tuned). Then we go on a Batorama boat cruise and see Strasbourg by the water which was lovely, and also informative. We then visited the Cathedrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg, as well as many Christmas markets. We saw the famous Christmas Tree at Place Kleber, and even sampled some classic Christmas market food stalls, and enjoyed mulled wine, and delicious warm orange juice called Jus d’orange chaud au miel (which is a nice non-alcoholic beverage to enjoy). We also saw Petite-France by night, and enjoyed all the beautiful Christmas lights, sights, sounds, smells, and more! Stay tuned for our second (and last) full day in Strasbourg, as the food and exploring continues.
Here is a link to the lovely airbnb, we highly recommend it:

Hi there, just clicked on your video because we visited magical Petite France in October. 2023 and we So enjoyed our stay. No Christmas glitter at that time but it was still so picturesque and food was delicious. We had lunch twice at the Big trading marche building near the docking area for the Batobus and their Black Forest Cake and Apple strudel were definitely our special memories, as well the eternal sounding of luggage wheels on the cobblestone streets. We stayed just off the train station square. So pleased to see your perspective of this memorable spot. thank You
Was this the end of 2021 or 2022? I am surprised with the masks. Last time we traveled wearing masks was fall of 2021 and in Costa Rica in spring of 2022 on the bus only.
We were there the first two weeks of Dec. not many people were wearing masks in the city center.

Alsace is strongly influenced by germany, because before 1648, it was a part of Germany (the Holy roman Empire).
