Exploring the Nuremberg Christmas Market – Travel Vlog | Is it the best Christmas Market in Europe??
After a cold and rainy day at the Munich Christmas Markets, we decided to catch a train 100 miles (160 km) north to the city of Nuremberg (Nürnberg) to get a little Christmas market redemption at the Nuremberg Christmas Market (Nürnberger Christkindlesmarkt) which is arguably the most famous (with around 2 million visitors each year) and some would even say the best Christmas market in all of Europe! After experiencing it firsthand, we can see why this market ranks near the top of pretty much every traveler’s must-visit Christmas market list. The second that you arrive at the Hauptmarkt – the central square where the market takes place – the smell of warm Glühwein (mulled wine), fresh Lebkuchen (gingerbread), and Nürnberg Rostbratwurst (grilled sausage) take over your senses. The red and white candy-cane-like rooftops on the 180+ neatly aligned festive stalls look to be straight out of a European Hallmark movie, and the twin, 50-feet (15-meter) high Christmas trees on either side of The Frauenkirche (“Church of Our Lady”) are the final touches that make the Nürnberger Christkindlesmarkt pure Christmas magic.
Let us know your favorite European Christmas Markets!

== About Us ==
We’re Matt & Nat, a part-time, non-remote travel couple based out of Nashville, TN.
We launched in 2021 by visiting all 50 US states & documented our entire journey on our Blog & here on YouTube! After spending a full year focused on such a defined goal, 2022 left us feeling a little lost & wondering “What’s next?”. We continued traveling & creating vlogs but always with the “What’s next?” question lingering. During one of our trips, we came across the book “1,000 Places to See Before You Die” & were immediately drawn in by it & knew that it had to be a part of our adventures. So, in January 2023 we officially launched our “1,000 Places To See Before You Die” series where we’ve set out to see as many of the “1,000 Places To See Before You Die”… before we die!
We hope you’ll join us on the adventure & find some adventures of your own along the way! And remember… It’s better to see something once (even if only for a moment) than to hear about it a thousand times.

Here in Germany it doesn't mean anything negative if someone "stares" at you!
In fact, it's exactly the opposite…
Here, looking someone in the eye is a sign of respect and/or interest.
There is the sentence:
"The eyes are the window to the soul"…
So when you look into someone's eyes instead of looking at the ground, you have a "clear conscience"…
Long story short…
When we Germans "stare" at you, it's absolutely nothing negative👍
Best Wishes from Hamburg/Germany
Rule #1 for going to German Christmas Markets, try and lose 30 pounds before you go. Rule#2 wear stretchy pants because you will probably gain 50 pounds,
I think this was my all-time favorite video of y’all’s‼️❤️
It was raining when we were there. We went home early December 2019.
Again, thanks for the descriptive notes of the food tasting! Awesome work. We’ve been to so many Oktoberfest but ever Christmas Market, will need to get there during this time now!
You guys got me watching your older stuff because I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a road trip from NY to MN to visit my newly found biological family! You guys are so fun I almost wish I could take you with me! Stay well and blessed!
I love that you can keep the mugs if you want! That's a special souvenir if do say so!
Went to Germany for 2 weeks for Christmas Markets. Started in Munich, las week in Karlsruhe. Went to Nuremberg, and several other cities! My husband is from Heidelberg, so we had to go to several places! Very cold! Had to keep getting Gluevine! Yum!
We loved Nuremberg Christmas market!! So much fun!!
You really must have a great appetite.
Incredible! I want to go even more now!
Ah! This was fantastic and made me miss Germany so much! I was in Darmstadt (just outside of Frankfurt) for 2.5 years. Christmas time is magical in Germany. Thanks for showing us these two. I had never been to either! ❤
Looked like a great time, minus the cold, but great work as always.
Matt, did Uwe mention this as a must-see when we met y’all at the donkey sanctuary on Aruba? Cuz he lived there for many years. I got to join him for the last one! My opinion, the prettiest city in Germany.❤
You both are so much fun to watch. I absolutely love all your vlogs. Can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for you. Cause the Lord has GREAT things in store for you both. Great Job
Hello, from Mt. Juliet, Tn love your channel its very fun.
We would have loved Nuremberg had it not been shoulder to shoulder people. Gotta agree though it's a must see and do.
Dope video Family, I also have a channel just launched about traveling subscribe 💯
That was fun. Thanks Matt and Nat. When I saw that giant pretzel coming out of the machine, I said wow got to head back to the mustard dispenser.
So many great memories of Germany 🇩🇪 Thanks!!!! 🥰
Great video – and I’m not one for Christmas markets normally, but would certainly go for those Lebkuchen! They looked amazing 🤩
The drinking and eating out of real dishes instead of take-away disposables and charging a deposit is so awesome! I wish we did that in the states at our festivals! Nat and her giant pretzel lol 😆 I love it. These markets look like so much fun to visit! 🎉
Great video this brought back a lot of memories from when I lived in Germany. I’ve been to the Nuremberg Christmas Market many times from when my dad was stationed in the Army.
Loved both your Christmas market vlogs, but this one was better because I felt happier since you weren't suffering from the cold rain! Would go just to eat & drink! Hope you came home with the mugs you liked. Hope I live long enough to see many more of your 1,000 adventures.
🤗❤️❤️👍👍
GREAT VIDEO !! vERY ENJOYABLE AND INFORMATIVE. GLAD THE WEATHER COOPERATED HERE !!
So glad y'all had a good time at this one and I enjoyed watching after Christmas. Good eating and safe travels.
What’s the penalty for public urination ? Result of charging for the toilet 😂
Where did you stay while doing the markets? Was there a place close by? Would LOVE to see those markets….. bucket list!
