No-one wants to be stuck in the kitchen all day on Christmas day, but we still want a Christmas dinner with all of the trimmings!
So how do we manage to get an impressive Christmas dinner on the table in minimum time on that special day?
Here are my top 10 Christmas Dinner tips!
The full written post is available here: https://www.kitchensanctuary.com/10-tips-for-a-stress-free-christmas-dinner/
Tip 1. Make Canapes instead of Starters
Tip 2. Make-ahead Gravy
Tip 3. Make those Roast Potatoes ahead too!
Tip 4. Make-ahead Mashed Potato
Tip 5. Keep the Roast Turkey simple!
Tip 6. Wrap those Pigs in Blankets
Tip 7. Buy Ready-Prepped Veg
If steamed veg sounds a bit boring, you can prep a few toppings that can be sprinkled or drizzled on at the last minute:
Honey Balsamic Sprouts โ mix honey and balsamic together the day before (just leave covered at room temp), then drizzle onto steamed sprouts and finish with a sprinkling of flaked almonds.
Butter Pepper Carrots โ Mix a couple of tablespoons of good-quality salted butter with a good pinch of white pepper. Cover at leave at room temperature. Spoon onto the steamed carrots. Add a sprig of fresh thyme or a sprinkling of parsley if you like.
Garlic Parmesan Green Beans – โ Mix a couple of tablespoons of good-quality salted butter with half a clove of minced garlic. Cover at leave at room temperature. Spoon onto the steamed green beans. Sprinkle on a tablespoon of ready-grated parmesan right before serving.
Tip 8. Make a Punch Bowl!
Tip 9. Set the Table ahead
Tip 10. Make-ahead Dessert (without taking up fridge space)

For years now I've cooked the turkey on Christmas eve. Cooled overnight and sliced in the morning, it's then trayed up with gravy and covered in foil. This frees up the oven for parsnips, roast potatoes etc and the tray of turkey just needs warmed through. There's no carving at the table, and plenty of room there too without a large bird taking up all the space.
I'm working the 3 days before Christmas. As usual will be panicking and there is only be me and my daughter. My problem is I want it to be perfect.
& some just have memories
Thanks for the tips this year :). Got a couple of good ones.

Love all your recipes ๐
Nikki, wonderful as always. A big pot of veg soup could be made a day ahead also. Last year my husband and I I hosted my parents, brother and aunt and I served soup as a sit down course with some canapรฉs beforehand. It really reduced the stress in having to get starters ready.
Last top tip, get volunteers wash up the delph between courses, the pots can wait.
Iโve got another good tip for a stress free Christmas, I let my wife do the dinner lol
