Joey, I had a blast playing Just One and So Clover with you and the gang at the KS party at GenCon. I am a little sad So Clover didn't make the list this year. It is such a blast! But these are definitely 12 great games!
Excited to see Just One on here. It had caught my eye a while back and I was looking for it, but no luck. Then just yesterday found it for $16.50 CAD on a Black Friday sale at a small toy store near me. It had been long enough that I didn't remember the details of the game, but picked it up based on my vague recollection. I plan to bring it into work as we've started playing games at lunch with a few colleagues.
Good luck to everyone who enters the Giveaway!
Waiting on the party game genre to move off of the "giving clues / guessing hidden information" mechanism. Bleh…
You're not allowed to celebrate Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving!
I look forward to these lists every year! Even though I already have most of the games on them 😅
Great game recommendations. Some of my favorites here and a few new titles to check out.
I am on your team!
Telestrations is another great party game to put on this list. Most people are familiar with pictionary and telephone. It's also great to play with all ages at once. I've never had a single person not have a good time playing it.
Sides is a great alternative to Just One for a word guessing game! I love the disagreement after an incorrect guess and the clue givers are trying to figure out a 1-10 rating of how close the guessers were.
I don't know if it counts as a "party game" the same way as the others on this list do, but my vote is for "The Princess Bride Adventure Book Game." It is still a light, co-op game that doesn't take too long to play. And if you're wondering, but how does The Princess Bride come up in this whole discussion? Well, it's because The Princess Bride is actually a Christmas movie!!! My family watches the movie and plays that game every New Year's Eve!
Sorry, it's way way too early to be doing anything "Christmas". The 12 Days of Christmas, already? Really?
Ugh.
I am a Dice Tower fan, but..
Ugh
Yesssss dice tower is doing game links now for purchase!!! So smart
How do you play Ready, Set, Bet with an unlimited number of players?
Secret Identity!
1:54 I don't know why but I found that cut directly from Tom to Chris utterly amusing 😂
There have been a lot of good party games in recent years.
For some of these games, they should almost move into a Hall of Fame. Yeah, Just One is a perfect party game…but it’s almost a given that it’ll be one of the 12, so it would have been cool to have something else in that slot.
So happy to see Fiction getting love! It's been a massive hit with everyone we've taught it to.
YAY!!! Thanks for providing Amazon links. (Next up…. Game Nerdz links.)
Wow, I haven't seen an intro this long since reading the 1835 french novel 'Father Goriot'
(And a great thing to do a list of available games… hurrah!)
Telling people that you're going to write the "obvious one" in Just One is totally cheating.
I’m surprised they Fun Facts wasn’t on this list. It was nominated for the SDJ and has been a total hit with all of the large groups that I play it with. Gamers and non-gamers alike.
So Clover has become one of my favorite party games.
The framing of the decorations in the background is nicely done!
Love seeing these videos each year
Wavelength and Phantom Ink are our current favorites, keeping in mind that we don’t go above 6 players for Phantom Ink.
