Aha.. so It WAS a sales pitch.. for STUPID 'SMART' items.. aka 'Echo' bs..
F that, ill pick up a stupid inconvenient controller before Echo messes w my LEDs.. bad enough with the spying..😮
You did great. Answered all of my questions/concerns in one video.
What size wire should I use 18AWG or 16 AWG??
good
Is there a tunable LED strip that is tunable on the controller/power supply? Similar to how some recessed lights are tunable directly on the power supply box. I’m trying to avoid remotes and apps.
Awful use of that hacksaw; it makes my list of seven things not to do with cutting tools. ;o)
What a brilliant overview. Well done.
SUPER helpful and easy to understand for a novice
Welp.. Was looking forward to these uh.. 'insights' but you lost me right at the beginning where it was 'Sponsored by.. HorribleCoro!'"
I'mma nope the heck out of here. Didn't even make it 45 seconds. Oh well.
And for anyone watching who's thinking 'what's that about?' HolidayCoro is like the cousin who'll try to flog you off the 5 year old PC 'for cheap', and then you discover it's half the power, and twice the price of something you could have bought yourself. Save yourself the trouble and… just don't.
FWIW, if you want to setup patterns with individually addressable leds, I saw a guy use these very cheap ($17 for 3 micro controllers) ESP8266 NodeMCU. They can network together. There's software that seems super simple to setup with an insane amount of presets. Silly title, but "I’m Never Buying LEDs Again! EASY DIY WLED!". He goes through the whole process step by step.
Those push in corner connectors are rubbish, I get so many problems with intermittent connections I can’t push on the connector and whatever colour is missing will come back on , isn’t anything better to replace them or how can I fix these as replacement will be so hard, I thought about soldering them in place but I’ve got and some are under cabinets etc
i really want diffusers for my led light strips but the issue is i am so scared that ill wreck the walls of the rental i live in. obviously using screws will damage the wall, and so will extremely strong tape over time as it will take the paint off my walls, what do i do? are there any solutions for led diffusers without having to damage your wall?
I have several 30" long RGBICs. How do I control them? The Data line will be parallel and not serial. Would that cause any issues? Is there a soluotin for it?
The only good youtuber that explained about LED's, hats down.
My error was fatal. I applied too much pressure (didn't feel like it was the case), and the TV started malfunctioning. 🙄
Do led strips come with thier channels?
I'm probably not gonna hide mine once I get them. I really don't have a problem with seeing the visible electronics in there. But, like, I get it.
I have 1 spool of LED strip. I want to cut the spool into multiple strips. How do I power, program and control multiple strips completely separate from each other?
Why do LED lights stay on but dim even after you’ve turned off the light switch?
You know what? In my opinion, the exposed led strip facing outwards looked more "cool" than the "lame" ones in the video. That's just my opinion, though.
Can you please tell me what's the best and cheapest projector screen i can buy for Nexigo Pj40 Gen 2 and Nebula Mars 3??
LED lights r cool and all when they are ON when they are OFF then that’s a different story 😂
i just need to know whether to install them at the top of my wall facing inwards or on my ceilings facing down tbh, i got all the stuff ready in front of me & nothing i see on YT is gonna stop me
Thank you!
Do what you like. Be happy with what makes you happy not what little man says should make you happy
Thanks now they don’t work u liar
For the channels, have you considered that some people rent? They can’t just do that
put the magical sticker on the wall and enjoy. done.
"If you require to open up an app on your phone you probably won't use your LED very much"….20 seconds later:"Here let me advertise for an app you can use"😂.
But great video btw 👍
Amazing. I was wondering how the hell I put LED strips on a bookshelf and stuff with strips that are 16 feet or 32 feet. The answer is to cut them and use connectors! Thank you sir!
How long does it normally take to get facebook join request approved? 🙂
Great and helpful. Thanks
My brain hurts
You should speak faster!!
Can you connect a five meter LED to another 5 meter and use the same transformer?
Hey I have open heat pipes in my apartment that go from the bottom to the ceiling.
My idea was to put LED's on the back of the Heatpipes.
The pipes heat up to about 50-60°C(120-140°F) depending on usage.
There is a few doubts I have about the execution of my plan:
1. The adhesive may not hold when its heated up
2. Obviously the pipes do the opposite of heat dissipation, instead they would heat the LED's to a base heat of 60°C(140°F) and then the heat of the LED's itself would add to that.
Is this even doable or just bad idea?
I love to se the leds…
Is there a minimum distance between objects required? Ie: you shouldn't put them direct but get the light to rebound. Can this be a matter of centimetres?
Sir with that cut, you put the HACK in hack saw…
thanks for the video. please find me a link for a smart plug with a usb-a port on it that uses 5 Ghz wifi and can be used with Apple Home Kit / Siri. this way I can control a schedule turning my bluetooth only led strip lights on/off please.
I don’t think I could ever go without RGBWW again. Sometimes, you just want a nice white, and you can’t get that from regular RGB.
very helpful, thank you.
"Silica gel neon tube covers…hiding the ugly led light strip inside." LOL The tube is just as ugly as the light strip, not to mention way thicker. I think people are going way too crazy with led lights right now. People are adding them behind their desks, on their beds, in their kitchens, in their basements, and the weirdest one… being a tv. Having a light on behind a tv distracts from viewing the tv. Such an odd idea that caught on.
Extremely helpful and informative video. It helped to consider issues a person would never know to ask or address until it was too late. The video helped me decide LED lighting IS doable. I’ve always wanted to install LED strips under my kitchen cabinets. This video helped me decide to do the project. Thank you for taking the time to create the video.
⚠ 1:09 I disagree, LEDs themselves can look great depending on the setting among other factors.
Looked up how to hang strips, this makes you go by all kinds of stuff
My Vont app no longer works and not on Google play store
How hard to connect wifi? I just dumped money 8 4inch leds and the install is insane. Turn off 3 to 5 times wait for blink then wait two minutes to only for them not to connect
