Lyrics:
They said there’ll be snow at Christmas
They said there’ll be peace on earth
But instead, it just kept on raining
A veil of tears for the virgin birth
I remember one Christmas morning
A winter’s light and a distant choir
And the peal of a bell and that Christmas tree smell
And their eyes full of tinsel and fire
They sold me a dream of Christmas
They sold me a silent night
And they told me a fairy story
‘Till I believed in the Israelite
And I believed in Father Christmas
And I looked to the sky with excited eyes
‘Till I woke with a yawn in the first light of dawn
And I saw him and through his disguise
I wish you a hopeful Christmas
I wish you a brave new year
All anguish, pain and sadness
Leave your heart and let your road be clear
They said there’ll be snow at Christmas
They said there’ll be peace on earth
Hallelujah, Noel be it heaven or hell

A christmas we get that we do deserve? It's up to nature to have sun, snow or rain. Greg, the song is nice but the lyrics are confusing me.
The arabs don't celebrate christmas, why does this clip show an arab desert?
I LOVE THIS SONG I LISTEN TO THIS EVERY YEAR SINCE IT FIRST CAME OUT & STILL MSKES ME CRY TY GREG LAKE FOR THE SENISTIVE PERSON THAT YOU WERE RIP
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Who is still listening in June?
Love my krauts thanks 🙏
That little bridge after the refrain, that came from a Russian composer and we played that piece in middle school. When I heard this song on the radio, it brought me back.
I’m listening to this work of genius now… it’s mid June
Heinz will get it be safe my brother 🙏
There's always, hope.
It's the thought; that, counts.
The ultimate Christmas song thank you Greg for a wonderful song RIP we will miss you and Emerson always

1 minute ad followed by 15 second, ad, Google's finances MUST BE IN TROUBLE!
The ads on Youtube during an election year as they get sued around the country for misdeeds is ABSURD.
Google's losing market relevance I guess.
Greg Lake is the most angelic man I think I have ever seen in my life! He looks like an angel, plays like an angel, writes songs that are angelic. Maybe he was an angel!
U2 brought me here Blessings and HUGS and Merry Christmas! 👑💜
Greg Lake wrote this song to protest the commercialism of Christmas. His parody song became a Yuletide hit.
One of those songs you shouldn’t wait until Christmas to listen to. Pure class.
This is the most poignant Christmas song of all time.
My favorite!
And it has never been played on the radio.
Still amazingly the best Christmas sing…ever..thank you Greg Lake R.I.P.❤
Thank you Greg for this masterpiece!
Kicking down the cobblestone. Looking for fun n feeling groovy!
That first verse is wonderful.
Better looking even than david cassidy
Anyone else get here because of the first episode of Three Pines on Prime TV?
Sarah Brightman chose this song for one of her recent Christmas specials and it was very confusing. I thought I understood the Greg Lake message to the song but while Sarah sang the song beautifully, it felt as if she did not understand the message (huge smile of her face with hips swinging).
Best anti muslim realisation song ever
The video of this piece with Ian Anderson is also excellent.
Kinda amusing to see Greg Lake singing a Christmas song to a group of Arabs sitting in the Arabian Desert with camels as backdrop. Humorous actually.
Thank you Prokofiev
Gregg Lake had life, politics and all the other BS sussed way before our time. My favourite song since its release. Im now 59..❤️
Life was so much better then not
The sheer talent that Greg Lake was gifted with is off the charts. I think I read somewhere that he wrote the song "Lucky Man" when he was 12 years old. Incredible!
Amazing song so many memories of Christmas past!🥰thank you GL XxX
Sometimes the Heaven knocks at someone's door and give him a heavens' song as a present. Thank you, Greg for having shared with us your present from Heaven…
Still listening to this and it is March a good feel record.
Superb holiday music!😅
